May 27, 2008 - Memorial Day Parade, Wolcott
For the first time, the CCMBA marched in the Memorial Day Parade in Wolcott, CT. It was the first time ever that horses marched and they were a hit with the crowd! Two mustangs, Cheyanne and Spirit, owned by Cara Spagnoletti and Bill Drobish, respectively marched behind a CCMBA banner while walkers threw candy and kindly pulled a wheel barrow behind them, just in case. The parade was a success and look for picture to be posted in the gallery soon!

March 29-30, 2008 - Connecticut Horse Symposium
The CCMBA was pleased to visit the University of Connecticut, host of the Connecticut Horse Symposium. Besides attending some great demonstrations on horse massage and natural horsemanship (and playing with the miniature donkeys in attendance), we set up shop and got the word out about the association and the BLM adoption program. We talked to many prospective adopters and handed out a lot of posters, so hopefully we'll see some new faces soon!

January 13, 2008 - Meeting
As I'm sure you've noticed when you reached the homepage, CCMBA now has a new logo! If you'd like to see the full sized logo Click Here. Many topics were discussed among the officers including the setting of a tentative date for our first show: Sunday, April 27th. This will be conducted as an open house. All are welcome! Details on location and activities are to come!

At this early stage in our new organization, we are focusing a lot of our efforts on recruitment of new members and advertisement. Please help by putting up a flyer at your local veterinarian, tack shop, or feed store. More to come shortly!
